The WHOLE Experience framework was used as a guide to facilitate reflective practice as well as examine current DEI practices in (2) online courses. The model allows for practitioners/faculty to reflect and self-assess current strategies and determine how to improve learning engagement, experience, and environments. Student feedback and data were collected via a six-question student evaluation of the courses. Results showed that the inclusion of the WHOLE Experience framework elements (welcoming, holistic, open, liberating, and empowering) increased student belonging, motivation, engagement, and overall success. Educators/practitioners can employ this framework to consider their own DEI practices.
