QM AI Review Assistant (Now in Beta)

Surface Evidence Faster. Keep Human Judgment at the Center.

Preparing courses for review takes time, especially when faculty, instructional designers and quality assurance teams are supporting multiple courses and balancing competing priorities.

The QM AI Review Assistant gives institutions a more efficient starting point. This AI-powered tool connects with your LMS to help surface evidence related to QM Specific Review Standards, identify missing elements, and focus your team’s attention on areas that require deeper examination.

Available now in beta for Canvas LMS users, the QM AI Review Assistant supports institutions with a QM Full Subscription as they conduct Self-Reviews or Internal Reviews, helping more courses move confidently toward an Official QM Course Review.

What the QM AI Review Assistant Does

The QM AI Review Assistant uses keyword, structural and technical analysis to examine course content for documented evidence related to QM Standards. The Assistant helps you:

  • Identify evidence associated with a Specific Review Standard, showing where that evidence appears in the course and where it may be missing, incomplete or difficult to locate
  • Focus your team’s time on areas that need more context, interpretation and professional judgment
  • Gain confidence and more effectively prepare for a human-led Official Review

More Focus for Every Member of Your Team

For Faculty

Begin course revisions with a clear, actionable starting point by revealing high-impact design issues.

For Instructional DesignersSpend less time searching for evidence and more time helping faculty interpret findings, strengthen alignment, and improve the learner experience.
For AdministratorsSupport more consistent early-stage review work and efficiently enhance your continuous improvement process by identifying areas where faculty guidance, professional development, or other institutional resources may be needed.

The QM AI Review Assistant identifies evidence. People determine quality.

The QM AI Review Assistant is a course-improvement aid used to prepare a course for Official Review — not a replacement for a human reviewer or the QM Peer Review process. While the tool represents an exciting new improvement in efficiency for course designers and representatives, it is important to understand its limitations. The QM AI Review Assistant is not able to:

  • Make human inferences; interpret contextual, discipline-specific and course-specific information, or use professional judgment.
  • Determine if the alignment of course components is correct.
  • Navigate courses as a learner would.
  • Apply the 85% Rule or determine whether a Standard is “met” or “not met.”
  • Provide the thoughtful, informed, collaborative feedback that occurs in a human review.
  • Provide 100% confidence in its findings.

Remember: The QM AI Review Assistant can tell you what evidence it found. A qualified human reviewer must determine what that evidence means and how the course components work together to create alignment.

Self-Review

Examine your own course and identify opportunities for improvement. Use the QM AI Review Assistant’s findings as a starting point, then examine the course directly and apply your own knowledge of the QM Rubric.

Internal Review

Bring colleagues into a collaborative, institution-led review. The QM AI Review Assistant can help surface potential evidence and focus discussion, but reviewers remain responsible for examining the course, interpreting the Standards and reaching conclusions.
